Mont-Tremblant
November 1, 2011
Here are two wooden bookmarks that my aunt acquired in Canada. They’re from Mont-Tremblant:
Mont-Tremblant is a city in the Laurentian mountains of Quebec, Canada. Mont-Tremblant is most famous for ski resorts such as the Mont-Tremblant Ski Resort, which is at the foot of a mountain called Mont Tremblant (derived from local Algonquins who referred to it as the “trembling mountain”).

Two bookmarks from New Zealand
August 25, 2011
I received these from Cathie today. She tells me this first bookmark was made for the Rugby World Cup :
And the second one shows the Milford Sound, a fjord in the south west of New Zealand’s South Island, judged as the world’s top travel destination and acclaimed as New Zealand’s most famous tourist destination :
It looks better with light behind it :
Thank you ! :-)

Burano
July 10, 2011
A bookmark from Burano, Italy. Thanks to my aunt for this one!.
Burano is an island in the Venetian Lagoon, northern Italy. It is known for its small, brightly-painted houses, popular with artists. The colours of the houses follow a specific system originating from the golden age of its development; if someone wishes to paint their home, one must send a request to the government, who will respond by making notice of the certain colours permitted for that lot.
Warriors

Karen sent this interesting bookmark from México:
Eagle warriors and Jaguar warriors were two special classes of infantry soldiers in the Aztec army, leading military orders in Aztec society. These military orders were made up of the bravest soldiers of noble birth and those who had taken the greatest number of prisoners in battle. Of all of the Aztec warriors, they were the most feared.
